As part of an art direction class, we were required to create a digital product that would help to solve a problem and be a working prototype. Myself and a classmate decided to create a digital app using Adobe XD that we named petcorner. The app was designed to help those who may struggle with deciding what food is the best fit for their pet when they may be feeling overwhelmed. Additionally, we decided to add an interactive element, that let users use their own pet or make their own, and play games, feed, dress-up, and design their home (reminiscent of the Tamagotchi). Although not every aspect of the app is fully functional, we paid special attention to the design and made certain aspects interactive to best show off the app and its function.
We decided to design the app to be a collaboration between PetSmart and the Toronto Humane Society. This was achieved by linking the shop feature directly to items available to purchase on PetSmart and by having a sub-section of the app that showed users the different pets that are available for adoption through the Humane Society.
